Here we focus on an ingenious system that recovers the energy available in the form of heat in an industrial compressor, via a heat exchanger.
Thermal energy recovery is an option available on the MAC3 range of industrial compressors from 22 kW, fixed and variable speed. Theheat exchanger is integrated into the machine, enabling quick and easy connection to the company's water network. By transferring heat between fluids, the plate heat exchanger heats the water using the heat from the compressor oil.
For each application, the customer can parameterize his available energy requirements using pumps and regulators on his water circuit. This system heats water up to 70°C, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial process applications.
The stainless steel plate heat exchangers installed on MAC3 industrial compressors are manufactured by SWEP, a Swedish brand renowned for the quality of its products. It should be noted that the exchanger integrated into the MAC3 compressor 's oil circuit does not affect its performance.
In industry,compressed air can account for up to 20% of overall electrical energy consumption. Most of the electrical energy consumed by industrial compressors is converted into heat, which has to be discharged... Theheat exchanger makes it possible to put this heat to good use, reusing it to reduce overall electricity consumption and thus the company's carbon footprint.
